- Raisins Production Process in Iran by Carbonate Potassium
To process potassium carbonate food grade powder it’s needed the farmers to make an emulsion with composition of Potassium Carbonate Plus oil (Fatty acid) and pure water.
For example This video explains how to process 2500 kg grape it’s necessary to have an emulsion with composition of
- 5 Kg Potassium Carbonate
- 2.5 Kg oil (fatty acid)
- 100 Lit of pure water
First of all, some quantity of water (10 Lit) should be poured in bath tub or in a drum. Then add 5 Kg of Potassium Carbonate and start mixing and solving potassium carbonate in the water completely. Afterwards add 2.5 Kg oil (fatty acid) and stir as much as possible. Then water should be added up to 100 Lit. Now we have a milky emulsion and ready for using. The process is simple, first basket of grapes should be sinked in the emulsion for one minute. After pulling out the basket, the grape should be distributed on the ground under sunshine. They are used in the production of over half the world’s raisins.
Making of raisins involves several steps like harvesting at suitable time, processing, drying, grading and packing.
Raisin production in India is based on the dipping of the berries in dip emulsion, which contains potassium carbonate and ethyl-oleate and drying in shade.
